Dominic is a motor mechanic working in the city whilst his wife, Nomalanga, lives in their country homestead with his elderly parents.
There is rampant lawlessness in the country as civil war rages on and amidst this turmoil, Nomalanga is brutally attacked and impregnated by a rebel soldier. Although her family rallies around her in support, Nomalanga is scared that her marriage would fall apart if the true identity of her unborn child's father was known and so she lets Dominic and everyone else in the family believe that the pregnancy was his – an error of judgement which will later on return to haunt her family.
A decade later, with the country enjoying a period of peace and tranquility, Nomalanga gets an unexpected visitor at the village. It’s Marfrock, the former rebel soldier who raped and impregnated her. Marfrock has transitioned from a lawless rebel soldier to a very successful business mogul; he now operates a chain of night clubs spread all around the capital city.
Although financially successful, Marfrock’s life feels empty, he’s neither married nor has children of his own and that’s why he has returned to the village to claim the only child that he knew was his. But he’s not after his biological son only, he wants Nomalanga to abandon her husband and marry him instead. And he’ll stop at nothing to realise his goal, including blackmailing Nomalanga and murdering Dominic if he became an obstacle.
